Perfect Knowledge of the Ground

Perfect Knowledge of the Ground is a knowledge propagation project, sharing resources that help situate the current ecological crisis as a product of capitalist and colonial episteme.  Perfect Knowledge of the Ground originally appeared at the Washington Project for the Arts in the spring of 2020 as a virtual bookshelf, a mail-order care package with seeds and a printed reader with excerpts from the bookshelf, and a film screening. Later the project grew into a virtual panel discussion at the NYC Urban Soils Institute's annual symposium and a second pressing of the reader. The project currently circulates as a resource for grounding questions of artistic responsibility and extraction as part of Dig Deeper: [some] Art, Science and History of Troy Clay.
